Maywood Moves to Clean Drinking Water

The Governor signed AB 890 (Perez), which will help clean up Maywood's drinking water.

Beginning in 2005, the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters, took a hard look at the City of Maywood in Los Angeles County. Maywood is notable for a superfund site threatening its water supply, a lack of parks and a city government that had long served local and sometimes corrupt business and law enforcement interests. Now, led by Maywood's new leaders on the city council Felipe Aguirre, Veronica Guardado, and Ana Rizo and Assembly Member John Perez, a bill in the legislature, if passed, would fix Maywood's tragic infrastructure problems and make the city's water safe and potable.
