Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters Endorses Dr. Maria Morales for El Monte Mayor
LOS ANGELES (October 20, 2022)– The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – supporting pro-environment candidates throughout Los Angeles County – announced its endorsement of Dr. Maria Morales for Mayor of the City of El Monte.
“We need political leaders that will take action to address climate change and its impact on low-income communities. That is why we are proud to endorse Dr. Maria Morales for El Monte Mayor,” said Shona Ganguly, President of the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters, “Dr. Morales understands the environmental injustices facing El Monte residents and will take action to ensure a cleaner future for all. We know that she will do what it takes as Mayor to protect the people of El Monte and the local environment they call home.”

As a City Councilmember, Dr. Morales is proud of her record on pro-environmental initiatives across the City of El Monte including her leadership on the City’s first Climate Action Plan and the historic creation of the Gibson Mariposa Skate Park in El Monte. As Mayor, she looks forward to continuing the battle for environmental justice here in the City of El Monte through the implementation of the city’s Climate Action Plan, taking on aggressive emission reduction action in the city, and establishing more green and open space. Under her leadership, El Monte will be a gold standard for city leadership on climate justice.
