LALCV endorses Kevin de Leon for City of LA Council District 14
LOS ANGELES (January 22, 2020) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than three decades – announced its endorsement of Kevin de Leon for Los Angeles City Council, District 14, in the upcoming March 3rd election.
“Kevin de Leon is a proven environmental leader with a track record of serious accomplishments that has been recognized across California and beyond,” said LALCV President Michael Kadish. “Kevin got our endorsement because he has the vision and experience to know exactly how government can catalyze a clean energy and transportation transformation in Los Angeles. Just as importantly, he will make sure we do it in way that benefits everyone in Los Angeles starting with the communities that need it the most.”
Air pollution, lack of green space and parks, and ongoing clean-up from the Exide Battery Recycling facility are some of the most pressing environmental issues facing LA CD 14. De Leon will serve CD 14 constituents by working to reduce traffic congestion and improve air pollution, creating open spaces and expediting clean-up of parcels impacted by the Exide incident.
“I am honored to receive LALCV’s endorsement. I look forward to working with LALCV to advocate for environmental justice issues impacting my community,” said LA City Council candidate Kevin de Leon. More information on de Leon’s campaign is available at https://www.kevindeleon.com.
