Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters endorses Mark Burton, Richard Montgomery, and Steve Napolitano for Manhattan Beach City Council

LOS ANGELES COUNTY (September 20, 2020) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for four decades – today announced its endorsement of Mark Burton, Richard Montgomery, and Steve Napolitano for Manhattan Beach City Council in the upcoming November 3rd election.

As a former Councilmember and LA City Attorney, Mark Burton has deep experience working on a myriad of community issues,” said LALCV Director Kirsten James, who led the organization’s endorsement team for this race. “This experience and Mark’s passion for protecting the environment would be an asset to the Manhattan Beach Council.”

Richard Montgomery hopes to continue bringing environmental awareness to the residents of Manhattan Beach,” said James. “If re-elected he would prioritize issues such as reducing beach pollution, implementing storm water infrastructure and bringing more renewable energy to the City.”

As a coastal community with significant visitor traffic, Manhattan Beach faces many environmental challenges, with frequent periods of drought and climate change creating additional pressures.
