Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters endorses

Michael Detoy for Hermosa Beach City Council

(Los Angeles County) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than three decades – today announced its endorsement of Michael Detoy for Hermosa Beach City Council in the upcoming November 5th election.

“As a firefighter, Michael Detoy has seen first-hand the impacts of climate change and understands that local government plays an important role in helping to mitigate impacts and steward our environment.  Michael will be a leader on environmental issues such as protecting open space and effectively implementing environmental policies and regulations as a City Councilmember in Hermosa Beach,” said LALCV Director Kirsten James, who led the organization’s Endorsement Team for this race.

As a coastal community in a highly urbanized region, Hermosa Beach faces many environmental challenges, with weather extremes and climate change creating additional pressures. Detoy will serve Hermosa Beach well by protecting and enhancing open space, promoting a reduction in plastic pollution, and ensuring environmental regulations are implemented.
