Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters endorses Nithya Raman for
City of Los Angeles Council District 4
(Los Angeles County) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than three decades – today announced its endorsement of Nithya Raman for Los Angeles City Council District 4 in the upcoming March 3 election.
“As a trained urban planner and practiced advocate who has worked throughout her career at the intersection of environmental and urban poverty issues, Nithya Raman has the know-how to help tackle our City’s immense environmental challenges,” said LALCV Board Member Kirsten James, “She would without a doubt be a champion on environmental issues on LA City Council.”
Being the second most populous city in the nation, Los Angeles faces numerous environmental challenges from air and water pollution to waste management. Nithya Raman has introduced a comprehensive environmental platform, focusing on critical issues such as mitigating climate change and ensuring the region’s water self-sufficiency.
“The endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters is one of special significance to me,” Ms. Raman reflected. “Their energy and advocacy in fighting the urgent crises facing the planet are what give me hope in these uncertain times. I’m honored and thrilled to be fighting alongside them for our planet’s future.”
