LOS ANGELES COUNTY (9/30/24)– The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – supporting pro-environment candidates throughout Los Angeles County – announced its endorsement of Konstantine Anthony for re-election and Eddy Polon for election to Burbank City Council.

“Both Konstatine Anthony and Eddy Polon will support the City of Burbank’s sustainability and climate goals. Anthony helped to pass the requirement for new developments to have parks and open space. Polon has been a staunch advocate of public transit and bicycle access in the city as well as investing in clean energy, drinking water, and natural parks,” said LALCV President Shona Ganguly.

Anthony helped to pass Burbank’s Green New Deal and is pushing to accelerate the net zero goal earlier than 2040. He aims to invest in more stormwater projects and infrastructure in the city.

“LALCV is a leader in fighting for the day-to-day sustainability issues that affect voters locally,” said Konstantine Anthony. “I am proud to carry their banner here in Burbank as we adopt innovative battery storage technology, ban single-use plastics, and expand our recycled water infrastructure.”

Polon serves as a Burbank Transportation Commissioner, is a student at CSUN getting MA in Urban Planning, an avid bicyclist, and used to bike to his kosher bakery in North Hollywood from Burbank in his previous career as a baker. He wants to transform the inadequate composting program in Burbank. He is a safe streets advocate wanting to invest in safe mobility (first-last mile). He also participates in the sustainability commission.

“I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters. Their support is not just a vote of confidence in my candidacy, but a clear reflection of our community’s commitment to environmental sustainability,” said Eddy Polon. “Time and again, our community has proven at the ballot box that the environment is a top priority, and this endorsement reaffirms our shared dedication to preserving and enhancing our natural surroundings. I am excited to work together to champion environmental policies that will benefit our city and its future generations.”
