LOS ANGELES COUNTY (9/30/24)– The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – supporting pro-environment candidates throughout Los Angeles County – announced its endorsement of Yasmine-Imani McMorrin for re-election and Nancy Barba and Bryan “Bubba” Fish for election to Culver City Council.

“Yasmine-Imani McMorrin, Nancy Barba, and Bubba Fish are the environmental champions that Culver City needs right now. They deeply care about climate change and how it affects their communities and the region,” said LALCV President Shona Ganguly.

These three candidates are committed to public service and investing in sustainability for the residents of Culver City. They understand the need for infill housing to meet needs and address affordability, while reducing VMTs, traffic, and emissions from long commutes. Their campaign to ban bottles, balloons, bags, and butts is critical for the environment as are their other platforms.

“How we address our environmental needs in this ongoing climate crisis is crucial to protecting Culver City’s individuals and families. I’m proud to have the endorsement of LALCV, and looking forward to continuing the work that’s required to protect our lands and our communities.”

“I’m incredibly honored and grateful to receive the endorsement of the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters. Their commitment to protecting our environment and promoting sustainable solutions aligns deeply with my vision for Culver City,” said Nancy Barba. “Together, we can tackle the urgent challenges of climate change, protect our natural resources, and ensure that future generations inherit a healthier, more resilient planet. I am committed to making environmental and mobility justice a priority and look forward to working alongside organizations like LALCV to create a greener and more equitable future for all.”

“As a public servant who has devoted my career, nights, and weekends to fighting climate change, I am honored to have the endorsement of the climate champions at L.A. League of Conservation Voters. I look forward to working with LALCV to continue our progress towards a climate-resilient and sustainable future for Culver City,” said Bubba Fish.
