LOS ANGELES COUNTY (October 9, 2024) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for four decades – today announced its endorsement of Nina Tarnay for Manhattan Beach City Council in the upcoming November 5th, 2024 election.

“As a candidate well-versed in the region’s water resource issues, Nina Tarnay brings unique insights and passion to her candidacy for Manhattan Beach City Council,” said LALCV Director Kirsten James, who led the organization’s endorsement team for this race. “If elected, Nina would prioritize protecting our water resources, promoting environmental considerations for development and supporting enhanced electric vehicle infrastructure.”

“I’m honored by this meaningful endorsement by the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters,” commented Nina Tarnay.  “As an attorney whose practice areas included municipal and water law, the Executive Administrator for the West Basin Water Association and a 25 year resident of Manhattan Beach, I understand the importance of careful stewardship of our environment and natural resources.”

As a coastal community with significant visitor traffic, Manhattan Beach faces many environmental challenges, with frequent periods of drought and climate change creating additional pressures.
