Roxan (Roxy) Rivas (they/them/theirs) – Vice President

Roxan “Roxy” Rivas is an urban planner, environmental advocate, and nonprofit leader rooted in the Northeast San Fernando Valley. They currently serve as Director of Strategic Development at North East Trees, where they advance initiatives focused on urban forestry, community development projects, greening schoolyard projects, and equitable access to green space across Los Angeles County.

Roxy earned their bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree in Urban Planning from California State University, Northridge. Throughout their career, they have worked at the intersection of environmental justice, community engagement, planning, and public policy, with a particular commitment to ensuring that communities most impacted by environmental inequities have a voice in shaping the future of Los Angeles.

They serve on the Board of the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters, bringing their experience in community-based environmental work, fundraising, and civic engagement to help advance environmental leadership throughout the region.

Outside of work, Roxy can usually be found playing basketball, cheering on the Lakers, backpacking somewhere with questionable cell service, or finding an excuse to be outdoors.
