Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters endorses Councilmember Mark E. Henderson for Gardena City Council
LOS ANGELES (February 10, 2020) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than three decades – today announced its endorsement of Councilmember Mark E. Henderson for Gardena City Council in the upcoming March 3rd election.
“While serving as a Councilmember for the City of Gardena, Councilmember Henderson has focused collaboration with his colleagues to fully support an Abandoned Property Ordinance in the city with a goal to provide the city leverage to open communications with various property owners, reducing community blight and environmental justice issues. Before serving as a Councilmember, he served as chair of the Gardena Environmental Justice Committee, bringing awareness to the community regarding Brownfields that we have in our city boundaries. In addition, his role as the former chair of the City of Gardena Planning Environmental Quality Commission helped prepare him to address Climate Change effects on the city infrastructure. We look forward to seeing a continued focus on clean air, public transportation, and addressing environmental justice concerns in the community,” said LALCV Stephanie Molen, who led the organization’s Endorsement Team for this race.
Councilman Mark E. Henderson will continue to execute strategic plan development, lead an open dialogue with city officials, business leaders, and raise community awareness to develop and propose opportunities in environmental justice and optimizing Gardena’s open space plans.
