(Los Angeles County) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than four decades – today announced its endorsement of Laura Emdee for Redondo Beach City Council, District 5 in the upcoming March 5th election.

“During her tenure on Council and the School Board, Laura promoted environmental stewardship in Redondo.  She would continue to effectively champion issues such as zero waste, climate adaptation, and water conservation,” said LALCV Director Kirsten James, who led the organization’s Endorsement Team for this race.

As a coastal community in a highly urbanized region, Redondo Beach faces many environmental challenges, with frequent periods of drought and climate change creating additional pressures.   Emdee will serve Redondo Beach well by ensuring the implementation of water quality protections, developing greater mobility options such as enhanced bike paths, and promoting recycled water over energy-intensive desalination.
