LALCV Endorses Nick Melvoin for Los Angeles Unified School District 4

LOS ANGELES COUNTY (April 28, 2026) — The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV), which supports pro-environment candidates throughout Los Angeles County, endorses Nick Melvoin for Los Angeles Unified School District 4.

Nick Melvoin is a proven environmental leader who has spent nearly a decade advancing healthier, greener schools and communities. As a teacher, attorney, and parent, he understands the need for clean, safe, and sustainable schools. He will continue championing heat mitigation, wildfire preparedness, renewable energy, water capture, electric buses, and greener campuses for LAUSD students and families.

“Nick Melvoin has been a strong environmental leader for LAUSD, advancing practical solutions that make schools healthier, greener, and more resilient,” said LALCV President Maro Kakoussian. “From cleaner air and greener campuses to heat mitigation, renewable energy, and wildfire preparedness, Nick understands that climate action is essential to protecting students and families. We are proud to endorse him because he has the experience, commitment, and vision to continue building safe, sustainable schools across Los Angeles.”

“I’m honored to have LALCV’s endorsement and partnership in this work,” said Nick Melvoin. “Environmental issues aren’t abstract for our students; they shape whether schools are safe and conducive to learning. That’s why I’ve focused on greening our campuses, expanding solar power, and investing in shade, trees, and climate-resilient infrastructure—and why I’ll keep pushing to make LAUSD a leader in sustainability and environmental justice.”
