LALCV supports Ballona Wetlands Restoration

December 30, 2020

As a group dedicated to protecting the environment in Los Angeles County, the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) believes that restoring the Ballona Wetlands has enormous potential to enhance biodiversity and provide the ecological functions necessary to build coastal resilience in our region. Further, with nearly 600 acres of open space, the Ballona Wetlands located between Marina del Rey and Playa del Rey has the potential to provide essential open space to Angelenos in park-poor and low-income communities. LALCV supports a restoration of the Ballona Wetlands which is scientifically-based and that significantly increases wetland habitat, builds coastal resilience, and creates equitable access for all.
