(Los Angeles County) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than three decades – today announced its endorsement of Bill Brand for Redondo Beach City Council, Mayoral Seat in the upcoming March 2nd election.

“Mayor Bill Brand has a proven track record of fighting for his community, first as a community activist, and in service to the City Council since,” said LALCV Board Member, Stephanie Molen. “He will continue to fight for Redondo Beach by protecting open spaces, fighting for clean energy and removing overhead powerlines, and reduce the use of one-off plastics, such as plastic bags.”

As a coastal community in a highly urbanized region, Redondo Beach faces many environmental challenges, with drought and climate change creating additional pressures. The League recognizes the need for local protections of beaches and waterways addressed through City Council policies.
