Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters Endorses Ali Sajjad Taj and Melissa Ramoso for Artesia City Council

LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA — The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – supporting pro-environment candidates throughout Los Angeles County — announced its endorsement of Ali Sajjad Taj and Melissa Ramoso representing Artesia City Council.

“LALCV is excited to see environmental action in Artesia that creates more parks and open space, increased access to public transit, and an investment in improved quality of life for all residents. We are happy to announce our endorsement of Ali Sajjad Taj and Melissa Ramoso for Artesia City Council who will continue making strides in the fight against climate change in the city and across the region,” said LALCV President Shona Ganguly.

“I’m honored to receive LALCV endorsement for my work for many years to help improve the environment in southeast Los Angeles County. As Chair for Eco Rapid Transit – a light rail project, I will continue to work to see this project come through. This will take several cars off the freeway. Expected ridership being sixty thousand a day. One seat ride from Artesia to Los Angeles. This will have a major impact on the environment for Artesia including the entire southeast Los Angeles region. In Artesia, I have spearheaded many initiatives for open spaces, an example is adding a major park (Botanical Gardens) in the heart of the city,” said Ali Sajjad Taj.

“Receiving the endorsement from one of California’s most prestigious and committed environmental organizations, the Los Angeles League of Conservations Voters, is a call to ensure open space and clean water for my community. Thank you LALCV for being a partner in my re-election to protect and preserve the beauty and health of Artesia,” said Melissa Ramoso.

Melissa Ramoso has been a staunch supporter of the environment. A few of her environmental advocacy projects include: repaving of Norwalk Blvd. and adding green bicycle lanes, voting for the first free electric city bus for riders in California, and advocating for an environmental service center for the upcoming Artesia Botanical Garden.
