Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters Endorses Katy Young Yaroslavsky for Los Angeles City Council District 5

(Los Angeles County) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV), which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than four decades, today announced its endorsement of Katy Young Yaroslavsky for Los Angeles City Council District 5 in the upcoming June 7 election.

“Katy is a true environmental leader and is exactly the type of candidate that LALCV seeks to support,” said LALCV President Shona Ganguly. “Through her work to spearhead Measure W – The Safe, Clean Water Program, to her record in creating both L.A. County’s first sustainability office and L.A.’s newest and greenest utility, the Clean Power Alliance, Katy has made protecting the environment a top priority. As an LA City Councilmember, Katy will keep fighting the fight against climate change, an existential threat to residents of CD 5 and all in Los Angeles City.”

“As an environmental policymaker, there is no greater honor than earning the endorsement of the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters,” stated Katy Young Yaroslavsky. “I’ve spent nearly two decades working with LALCV’s leadership to make L.A. more healthy and climate resilient and fighting for a greener, more environmentally just city will be one of my top priorities on the City Council. I look forward to partnering with environmental, public health, and community leaders to build a city where we prioritize clean air and water and sustainable infrastructure to make L.A. a global climate leader, where all Angelenos, our children, and their children, can thrive.”
