Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters endorses Aura Vasquez for

City of Los Angeles Council District 10

(Los Angeles County) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV), which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than three decades, today announced its endorsement of Aura Vasquez in Los Angeles City Council District 10 in the upcoming March 3 election.

“I am a fierce advocate for equity and the environment that never backs down to a challenge. I am the candidate running for LA City Council who puts the protection of people and our planet over profit,” said Aura Vasquez. “I led the campaign to get L.A “Beyond Coal” by 2025.  As LADWP Commissioner, I pushed to retire three coastal gas plants that will bring economic prosperity to our city and create thousands of local good-paying jobs in the renewable energy economy. I am proud to have been instrumental to pushed Los Angeles to adopt a Green New Deal and getting the endorsement of the LALCV proves that.”

“As both an organizer and a LALCV Board Member herself, Aura Vasquez has been a consistently strong voice for the environment,” said LALCV Board President Michael Kadish. “Her courage as an LADWP Commissioner in standing up against further destructive investment in fossil fuels was remarkable and we applaud her vision for a cleaner and greener Los Angeles.”
