LALCV Endorses Estuardo Mazariegos for Los Angeles City Council, District 9

LOS ANGELES COUNTY (April 2, 2026) — The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV), which supports pro-environment candidates throughout Los Angeles County, endorses Estuardo Mazariegos to Los Angeles City Council, District 9.

Estuardo Mazariegos is the environmental leader South LA needs. With a strong environmental justice vision for the district, he has made clear that his priorities include addressing extreme heat, expanding renewable energy, improving street safety, and advancing equitable development. “We are proud to endorse Estuardo Mazariegos because he brings both the vision and the experience needed to lead on environmental justice in South LA,” said Maro Kakoussian, President, LALCV. “He understands that communities need real solutions and a leader we can count on to fight for community-centered policies that deliver lasting change.”

“I am incredibly honored to earn the endorsement of the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters. A more livable future for my daughters and my family is exactly why I’m fighting for a Green New Deal for Los Angeles,” said Estuardo Mazariegos, candidate for Los Angeles City Council District 9. “For decades, frontline communities like District 9 have borne the brunt of toxic pollution, a lack of green space, and extreme heat. With LALCV’s partnership, we will phase out urban oil drilling, expand our tree canopy, transition to 100% clean energy, lower energy costs, and build a greener, healthier city that finally works for working families.”
