LALCV Endorses LA County Measure ER

LOS ANGELES COUNTY (April 21, 2026) — The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV), which supports pro-environment candidates and local measures throughout Los Angeles County, endorses LA County Measure ER.

“The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters is proud to stand with community clinics, medical associations, unions and low-income service providers in LA County to support YES ON MEASURE ER ON THE June 2, 2026 ballot. This will help prevent the closure of essential health care facilities, job layoffs, and cutbacks in public and environmental health services,” said Michele Prichard, LALCV Board Member.

Measure ER will add a temporary ½ percent general sales tax for 5 years throughout LA County. It is estimated to raise $1 billion annually to help hospital emergency rooms, trauma centers and community clinics maintain essential services in the wake of severe federal budget cuts that hurt 1.1 million low-income Medi-Cal recipients in the County. Public health services such as air and water quality testing, toxicology, and pandemic response will also receive support. Oversight will be provided by an advisory citizens committee along with an annual audit and public reporting. Groceries and prescription medications are exempt.
