LOS ANGELES COUNTY (April 7, 2026) — The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV), which supports pro-environment candidates throughout Los Angeles County, endorses Rex Richardson for re-election to Long Beach Mayor.
“I’m honored to be endorsed by the LA League of Conservation Voters. In Long Beach, we’re proud of the progress we’ve made, and we’re not done yet. We’ve broken ground on Pier B On-Dock Rail, advanced zero-emission port operations, restored wetlands, and launched the Westside Promise to bring cleaner air, better parks, and real economic opportunity to every corner of our city. We’ve also charted a responsible path away from oil revenue by 2030. The communities that have borne the heaviest burden of pollution deserve bold, sustained action, and that’s exactly what we’re delivering. I’m proud to have LALCV’s partnership as we keep building a cleaner, stronger Long Beach for generations to come.”
LALCV President Maro Kakoussian said: “Mayor Richardson has long demonstrated strong support for sustainable policies that protect our air, water and communities and keenly recognizes that these policies also can drive economic and job opportunities. Since we endorsed Mayor Richardson in his first Mayoral run in 2022, and when he ran for Long Beach City Council in 2014 and 2018, he has championed revitalization work for underserved neighborhoods, reducing pollution from the Port of Long Beach and creating economic opportunities in the clean economy. He has shown how real progress towards an equitable and healthy Long Beach can be achieved.”
