L.A. COUNTY – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV), which has supported pro-environment local leadership throughout Los Angeles County for more than three decades, announced today its endorsement of Sheila Kuehl for Los Angeles County Supervisor, District 3, in the upcoming election.
“Sheila Kuehl has long been a clear voice for the environment, and she has the knowledge, experience and skills to be an exceptional Los Angeles County Supervisor,” said Gary Gero, LALCV Endorsement Team Leader for the LA County Supervisor’s race. “Throughout her career, Ms. Kuehl has consistently championed important health and environmental issues, and she will bring that leadership to the Board of Supervisors.”
Kuehl served fourteen years in the California State Legislature, in both the Assembly and the Senate. In her time in the legislature, she served as chair of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee, the Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee, the Senate Budget Subcommittee on Water, Energy and Transportation, and the Assembly Judiciary Committee. She was the first woman in California history to be named Speaker pro Tempore of the Assembly. After she was termed out, she was appointed to the California Integrated Waste Management Board.
