L.A. COUNTY – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV), which has supported pro-environment candidates in communities across Los Angeles County for more than three decades, today announced its endorsement of Doug Haubert for re-election as Long Beach City Prosecutor.

“Long Beach City Prosecutor, Doug Haubert has shown he’s a respected leader and effective prosecutor who works hard to improve the quality of life for all Long Beach residents,” said LALCV President Tom Eisenhauer. “He’s been smart and tough for the people of Long Beach – working to reduce gang violence, protect public health, safeguard our coastal environment and hold accountable those who violate our environmental laws.”

Haubert is an experienced attorney with 14 years as a criminal prosecutor. In 2010, he was first elected Long Beach City Prosecutor, which handles 14,000 misdemeanor cases each year, including violations of State and local law. In his first term, he has worked to improve his office’s environmental prosecution unit, including earning a $50,000 grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to fund operations in the face of budget cuts. Haubert currently serves as the President of the Los Angeles County Prosecutor’s Association.
