L.A. COUNTY – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV), which has supported pro-environment municipal candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than three decades, announced today it has endorsed Robert Garcia for Mayor of Long Beach in the June 3 runoff election.
“When it comes to vital issues like clean air, livable neighborhoods and attracting good, green jobs, Robert Garcia is clearly the best choice for Long Beach,” said LALCV President Tom Eisenhauer. “Dr. Garcia has expanded park space, established bike paths, and protected coastal areas. He has the experience, skill and dedication to be an extraordinary Mayor.”
Dr. Robert Garcia currently serves as Long Beach’s Vice Mayor, and is a member of the California Coastal Commission. He is also a member of the public policy and communications faculty at the University of Southern California, and has taught Communication Studies at both Cal State Long Beach and Long Beach City College. Garcia also holds a Masters Degree in Communication Management from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from California State University, Long Beach.
