Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters Endorses Nora Garcia and Victor Preciado for Pomona City Council

LOS ANGELES (October 20, 2022)– The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – supporting pro-environment candidates throughout Los Angeles County – announced its endorsement of Nora Garcia and Victor Preciado for Pomona City Council.

“I am so honored and humbled to have earned the endorsement of the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters. Their work in using the political process to preserve and protect the environment is admirable and extremely important. I look forward to working with the LALCV to ensure we implement the necessary laws and policies to protect our environment for future generations,” said Victor Preciado.

As an avid runner and cyclist, most of Victor Preciados’ environmental and community work centers on advocating for safe streets, pedestrian safety, and access to safe and affordable public transportation through the policies he has enacted on the city council and the Foothill Transit Board. Moving forward, his plan is to establish a “Pomona Green Deal” that addresses our tree canopy, heat index, water conservation, vehicle miles traveled, and air quality.

“I share LALCV’s mission to fight for an equitable world with clean air, clean water, public lands, and a safe climate. I am honored to receive LALCV’s endorsement,” said Nora Garcia.
Nora Garcia began as an environmental justice advocate with Clean and Green Pomona, speaking in favor of the waste, recycling, and pallet yard ban in the city in 2017, helping to plant over 1,000 trees between 2017-2022, and putting forth and leading the approval of the warehouse moratorium as a councilmember in Pomona in 2022.  As a resident with the industrial zone just 1,000 feet away it is of the utmost importance that she advocates for a better quality of life for my family, friends, and neighbors as well as does what she can to combat climate change.
