Jonathan Parfrey 19XX – 2018 (Past President)
Jonathan Parfrey is the director of the GREEN LA Coalition. In December 2008, Jonathan was appointed to the City of Los Angeles Board of Water and Power Commissioners, where he is serving a five-year term. He is also a member of the Board of Public Officials for Water and Environmental Reform, member of the Stakeholder Committee of the Southern California Association of Governments’ Southern California Climate and Economic Development Project, Vision Los Angeles advisory committee, advisory board member to the UCLA Clean Energy for Green Industry, Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition advisory committee, a founding member of the board of cicLAvia, and the steering committee of the Los Angeles Regional Collaborative for Climate Action and Sustainability.
Jonathan formerly served as executive director of Physicians for Social Responsibility-Los Angeles from 1994 to 2007. In 2003, He was appointed to Governor Schwarzenegger’s Environmental Policy Team, and was previously appointed to Governor Davis’ select committee on radioactive waste disposal. Jonathan currently serves on the City of Los Angeles’ North Runway Safety Advisory Committee as well as the board of the Alliance for Nuclear Responsibility. He has published in the Los Angeles Times and other publications. In 1992, he received the Paul S. Delp Award for Outstanding Service, Peace and Social Justice. In 2002 he was awarded a Durfee Foundation Fellowship, and in 2010 Jonathan received a Stanton Fellowship.
