Karen is an urban planner with Lisa Wise Consulting, Inc., supporting cities across California in meeting their regional housing goals. She specializes in local housing policy, affordable housing program design, and economic development.
Over the past several years, Karen’s experiences include preparing Housing Element Updates for cities revising their housing strategies, updating the inclusionary housing programs for the Cities of Santa Monica and St. Helena, developing a business strategy for Descanso Gardens, providing a financial sustainability strategy for the Taylor Yards G2 Park, and analyzing the state of health and social equity in the real estate industry for the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
Karen is committed to a just and equitable California, striving to ensure all communities have access to social and economic opportunities. She holds a BA from Columbia University and an MPP from University of California, Berkeley.
