L.A. League of Conservation Voters endorses Candidate Stacey Armato for Hermosa Beach City Council
(Los Angeles County) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than three decades – today announced its endorsement of Candidate Stacey Armato as she runs for election to the Hermosa Beach City Council in the upcoming March election.
“In 2012, Ms. Armato became concerned over the proposal to drill for oil in Hermosa and consequently became the chairperson for Stop Hermosa Beach Oil (aka ‘Keep Hermosa Hermosa’). Since then she has worked tirelessly to protect her City, and has built a strong relationship of trust with her fellow community members,” said LALCV President Tom Eisenhauer. “Our endorsement team found her to be a smart and genuine candidate, who is running for office because she cares deeply about her community and has a strong desire to serve its residents as a strong environmentalist.”
As Hermosa Beach resident, Ms. Stacey Armato is running for office for the first time. She states, “I hope to be a voice on council that brings attention and action on issues that compromise our environment—our views, our beach, our open space, our walkability and bike-ability. These are at the very core of why many of us live in Hermosa and what makes our town so special. We need to fight hard to protect that.”
