(Los Angeles County) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than three decades – announced its endorsement of Isaias Pulido for the City Council seat in the upcoming Carson special election taking place on November 2, 2021.
“In 2021, protecting our environment has taken on a whole new meaning to advocates. As the years pass, we are made more aware every day that climate change is real and is affecting our planet and cities drastically. Carson, in specific, faces significant air quality issues, as it is home to many refineries and at the convergence of four transportation corridors. This is why it is more important than ever to invest in local leadership and support candidates who have shown a commitment to protect the environment,” said Diana León, LALCV Board Member and Endorsement Team lead for this race. “My fellow board members and I are happy to endorse Isaias Pulido, a leader who has demonstrated a commitment to dealing with this crisis and who will support initiatives that will lead to a more green Carson.”
“I would like to thank the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters for their support. It will be my job as City of Carson’s future councilman to do right for the community and bring new opportunities to the community, from renewable energy, solar, wind and making Carson an eco-friendly example city to help reduce our carbon footprint and help our residents’ health. I will work diligently, write policy, and utilize our environmental coalitions to help bring environmental awareness and justice to Carson. I will plant 10,000 trees, create a beautification project, create more environmental jobs, and clean our city alleyways, clean entryways, reduce pollution, and create an onsite 24/7 environmental justice resource center for our residents,” said Isaias Pulido.
