LOS ANGELES COUNTY (March 1, 2024) — The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – supporting pro-environment candidates throughout Los Angeles County – announced its endorsement of Chris Holden for LA County Board of Supervisor, District 5.
“The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters is proud to endorse Assemblymember Chris Holden, because he understands that climate and environmental action require an intersectional approach, incorporating and addressing public health, ensuring equitable access to parks, protecting critical open space, investing in multibenefit water solutions, securing affordable housing for the most vulnerable communities in LA County, and transitioning away from oil and gas to more renewable energy,” said LALCV President Shona Ganguly.
Holden has a proven track record in public service from Pasadena City Council to California State Assembly. He has pushed for 21st-century transportation solutions, such as the Gold Line. He advocated for the extension of California’s Cap and Trade program and strengthened air quality provisions in the most disadvantaged communities. Holden also secured significant funding for outdoor recreation and protection of open spaces from Claremont Wilderness Park to the Arroyo Seco.
“I am honored to have earned the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters endorsement. I have worked to advance environmental solutions that address climate change and create a more sustainable future. As Supervisor, I look forward to working with LALCV to ensure that Los Angeles County leads the way in reducing emissions, accessing renewable energy, and preserving our natural environment for generations to come,” said Assemblymember Chris Holden.
