(Los Angeles County) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than three decades – today announced its endorsement of Dean Francois for Hermosa Beach City Council in the upcoming May 11th special election.

“I’m honored to be recognized for my years of environmental leadership in the South Bay,” said Dean Francois.  “As councilmember, I will work to improve environmental policy for Hermosa Beach and for our whole region.”

As a coastal community in a highly urbanized region, Hermosa Beach faces many environmental challenges, with drought and climate change creating additional pressures. Dean Francois will serve Hermosa Beach well by protecting open spaces, creating a bikeable and walkable community, and implementing water quality protections.

“Dean Francois has a proven track record of addressing pressing environmental issues while serving on local commissions and civic organizations. As a resident of Hermosa Beach for over 40 years, Dean brings to Council a unique perspective on how to lead by including all of the community in all stages of project and policy development and implementation,” said LALCV Board Member Jim Kennedy.
