(Los Angeles County) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than four decades – today announced its endorsement of Eric Alegria for Rancho Palos Verdes City Council in the upcoming November 3rd election.

“During his tenure on the Rancho Palos Verdes City Council, Eric Alegria has championed environmental issues, such as protecting open space, reducing citywide emissions, and opposing offshore oil drilling.  As a healthcare service provider, small business owner and environmental steward, Eric Alegria understands that a healthy environment, healthy community, and healthy economy go hand-in-hand. Eric will continue to be a leader on environmental issues as a City Councilmember for a second term,” said LALCV Board Member Kirsten James, who led the organization’s endorsement team for this race.

As a coastal community in a highly urbanized region, Rancho Palos Verdes faces many environmental challenges, with weather extremes and climate change creating additional pressures. Alegria will serve Rancho Palos Verdes well by protecting and enhancing open spaces, promoting energy reduction and water conservation programs within the City, and ensuring environmental regulations are implemented.
