Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters Endorses Jean Adelsman, Jimmy Gow, and Asam Sheikh for Torrance City Council

(Los Angeles County, CA) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) — which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than four decades — today announced its endorsement of Jean Adelsman, Jimmy Gow, and Asam Sheikh for Torrance City Council in the upcoming June 7th election. LALCV has also endorsed Cliff Numark for Torrance Mayor.

“As a coastal community in a highly urbanized region with a large oil refinery, Torrance faces many environmental challenges.” said LALCV Endorsement Chair, Kirsten James. “Adelsman, Gow and Sheikh will serve Torrance well by prioritizing sustainability issues and helping to integrate an environmental ethic in all city departments.”

“The commitment of the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters to preserving and protecting the environment inspires me and once again, I am proud to be endorsed by the LALCV and I look forward to continuing the work of improving our environment in North Torrance and the greater South Bay area of Los Angeles,” said Jimmy Gow.

“The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than four decades. I am proud and honored to have their endorsement as I passionately share our common mission to protect the environment. If elected, I am committed to work hard to partner with LALCV to promote healthy living for our future generations,” said Asam Sheikh.
