Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters endorses Jeffery Prang for Los Angeles County Assessor

(Los Angeles County) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than three decades – today announced its pro forma endorsement of Jeffery Prang for Los Angeles County Assessor in the upcoming June 5th election.

“Throughout the Honorably Prang’s political carrier, he has always been a strong environmentalist and found ways to bring conservation principals to the forefront of his work.” said LALCV President Stephanie Molen. She continues, “At first glance, the position of the LA County Assessor is not one with a lot of environmental power. But through simple actions such as pushing technological advances and upgrading equipment, Assessor Prang has been able to drive down waste by reducing printing and energy consumption.”

Jeffrey Prang was sworn in as the 27th Assessor for the County of Los Angeles in December 2014. As Assessor, he has pursued an ambitious vision which includes modernizing technology, improving efficiency, restoring public trust in the Office, and making services more accessible for taxpayer

s. In September 2017, the Assessor’s Office was awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Assessment Administration (CEAA) by the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO). The CEAA is the highest professional honor for a governmental assessment agency, and Los Angeles is the first and only California county to have earned it. On the world stage, Los Angeles County joins just 38 other jurisdictions (out of 18,000) having earned this honor.
