Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters endorses Mike Bonin for Los Angeles City Council

LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) — which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than four decades — announced its endorsement of incumbent Mike Bonin representing Los Angeles City Council District 11.

Since he was first elected to City Council in 2013, Bonin has been a leader in advocating for bold action to address various environmental issues. Transportation has been a top priority, with a particular focus on alternatives to traditional, single-family cars.

“Mike Bonin has been an environmental leader throughout his first two terms on the Council, including pushing LADWP to commit to 100 percent green energy by 2035. We know he will continue pushing for a greener Los Angeles if re-elected,” Gina Goodhill, Vice President for LALCV, said.

Councilmember Bonin acknowledged that while the City has set ambitious environmental and clean transportation goals, it is still a long way off from achieving them. If reelected, he will work to move beyond goal setting and into action.

“Every part of our quality of life — from the safety for those who live in hillside and canyon communities to the very existence of coastal communities — depends on our aggressive action to confront the climate crisis,” Bonin said. “I’m proud to work with the environmental champions of the LA League of Conservation voters to advance ambitious efforts to increase the clean energy we use in LA, to improve how we recycle water, and to protect open spaces and air quality in LA. I appreciate their support and look forward to our continued partnership.”
