Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters endorses Mitchell Englander and Ara Najarian for Los Angeles County Supervisor, District 5

(Los Angeles County) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which has supported pro-environment local candidates throughout Los Angeles County for more than three decades – today announced its endorsement of Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitchell Englander and Glendale City Councilmember Ara Najarian for the upcoming election for Los Angeles County Supervisor, District 5.

“Mitchell Englander and Ara Najarian have each demonstrated a commitment to public health and the environment that would serve LA County well on the Board of Supervisors,” said Gary Gero, the LALCV Boardmember who led the organization’s Endorsement Team in this race. “Councilmember Englander has been a strong supporter of preserving open space and fought for his community during the methane leak at Aliso Canyon. Councilmember Najarian has proven his strong commitment to sustainable land-use development and transportation policy.”

Mitchell Englander has served on the Los Angeles City Council since his election in 2011, and previously served as chief of staff to Councilmember Grieg Smith. Ara Najarian was first elected to the Glendale City Council in 2003, and in 2006 was elected to represent the north cities of LA County on the Los Angeles Metro (MTA) Board of Directors, where he served as the Chairman in 2009 and 2010.
