Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters Endorses Monica Rodriguez for Los Angeles City Council District 7

LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA — The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) — supporting pro-environment candidates throughout Los Angeles County — announced its endorsement of Monica Rodriguez representing Los Angeles City Council District 7.

Councilwoman Rodriguez has worked to ensure that investments are being made in CD-7 for needed water and transit infrastructure, more accessible parks and open space, and fire prevention. She led hillside restoration work and led the Upper Los Angeles River and Tributaries working group to develop multiple benefit water conservation and recreational opportunity sites. She is also continuing to take action to reduce exposure to harmful pollutants from Whiteman Airport. In her next term, she plans to pay specific attention to homelessness, equitable economic recovery and environmental justice.

“Los Angeles City Council needs environmental leaders who are going to spark action to respond to climate impacts that Angelenos are facing daily, and Councilwoman Rodriguez understands that we need systemic approach to dealing with the climate emergency and to support communities. She has advocated for critical environmental investments, including green space for San Fernando Valley residents, increased tree canopy to address urban heat island effect, multibenefit stormwater projects, and light rail,” said LALCV President Shona Ganguly.

“I’m proud to have earned the continued support of LALCV. The endorsement is a valued recognition of the efforts I’ve been leading to create a more sustainable Los Angeles,” said Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez.
