LOS ANGELES COUNTY (9/22/24)– The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – supporting pro-environment candidates throughout Los Angeles County –  announced its endorsement of Rob Katherman for re-election to the Water Replenishment District Board of Directors.

Rob Katherman was first elected to the WRD Board in 2004. Over that time, Katherman has become one of the most accomplished water district directors.

One of Katherman’s biggest accomplishments he championed is Water Independence Now (WIN). As imported water from Northern California and the Colorado River became less and less reliable, Katherman was a leader on adopting the WIN Program, with the goal of becoming independent from imported water for groundwater replenishment, prioritizing water purification and stormwater capture.

The WRD district covers over one third of Los Angeles County’s groundwater that provides 4 million people with almost half of our drinking water in Southern Los Angeles County.

“Rob Katherman is a proven advocate to ensure our water quality and to make the Water Replenishment District a locally reliable source of water for our region while protecting the environment,” said Shona Ganguly, Board President of the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters.
