Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters endorses Cindy Montañez and Joel Fajardo, for San Fernando City Council

2020- San Fernando City Council EndorsementsLOS ANGELES COUNTY (September 20, 2020) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – supporting pro-environment candidates throughout Los Angeles County – announced its endorsement of Cindy Montañez and Joel Fajardo representing San Fernando City Council.

Cindy Montañez is the CEO of TreePeople and life-long environmentalist who has extensive experience in local and state government. She believes that she has a responsibility to bring more resources to San Fernando and to work to make low income communities of color more resilient to climate change. Joel Fajardo is the current Mayor of San Fernando and an advocate for trees and green space in San Fernando. He has supported drought-resistant landscaping, minimizing energy-use, rainwater capture projects, and improved air quality in the city.

I am honored that LALCV stands strong with me as there has never been a more critical time to elect climate and environmental justice champions. As San Fernando City Councilmember, we will green the city together to protect people from the threats of pollution and climate change, said Cindy Montañez.

Today I am pleased to accept the endorsement of the League of Conservation voters. I truly appreciate all the hard work the League does to protect our planet and give our children a brighter, cleaner future. The urgent threat of climate change demands action, and together we must we strive to protect our environment at all costs. As Mayor, and as a candidate this November, I am committed to action, and I call on voters everywhere to advocate for cleaner and renewable energy sources.
