LALCV Endorses Nancy Pearlman for LACCD, Seat 4

The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV), that supports pro-environmental candidates throughout Los Angeles County, announces its endorsement of Nancy Pearlman for Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees, Seat 4.

“We are proud to endorse Nancy Pearlman for LACCD Seat 4,” said Maro Kakoussian, President of LALCV. “A lifelong environmental champion and former LACCD trustee of 16 years, Nancy has a proven record of advancing campus sustainability through solar energy, recycling, and sustainable food options. Her experience and leadership will help build a greener future for LACCD.”

“The LALCV endorsement validates my over fifty-five years of environmental activism to make this planet a better place for all life,” said Nancy Pearlman. “My ecological goals for the LACCD continue to be to make sure that the multi-billion dollar bond building program continues sustainably which I lead the effort for when I was a Trustee with the LACCD. I want to ensure that the Gold Creek Ecological Reserve gets the District’s support for the faculty and students from all nine colleges who use it. The LACCD must do more to create safe campuses without the use of toxic chemicals in cleaning and landscaping, must do more to use renewable energy, and must do more to have environmental studies programs. While I am recognized internationally by the United Nations Environment Programme as a Global 500 Laureate, this regional recognition is important since southern California is my home and where ecological efforts must take the lead.”
