Luis Melliz 2020LOS ANGELES COUNTY (September 20, 2020) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) which has been supporting pro-environment candidates throughout Los Angeles County – announced its endorsement of Luis Melliz for Bellflower City Council.

Luis is a longtime community advocate and lifelong resident of Bellflower that has worked for many years on environmental issues that face the Southeastern city, which is bordered by the 605 and 91 freeways. Luis hopes to bring a new park with a community center and amenities to his district, create accessible sidewalks and bike lanes, and advocate for CalTrans to make improvements to the 91 Freeway to alleviate air and noise pollution, given that his district contains a portion of the freeway.

We are excited to endorse Luis Melliz in his bid for Bellflower City Council. He has been committed to his community for many years and know that he will be the type of environmental champion the residents of District 4 need. Luis has already proved capable of building relationships with community and organizations to advance community priorities. He is the strongest candidate for this seat, said Juan Muñoz, LALCV board secretary and endorsement team lead.

“I am deeply thankful to the LA League of Conservation Voters for believing in my candidacy to the Bellflower City Council, District 4. I am running to bring parks with a community center, addressing our sidewalk shortages, and bringing programs for our seniors and youth, said candidate Luis Melliz.
