Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters endorses Proposition HHH to reduce homelessness in the City of Los Angeles

(Los Angeles County) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which supports pro-environment candidates and measures in Los Angeles County, and has for more than three decades – today announced its endorsement of the Homelessness Reduction and Prevention, Housing and Facilities Bond, which will appear on the November ballot in the City of Los Angeles as Proposition HHH.

“Proposition HHH will provide the resources necessary to end chronic homelessness in Los Angeles – and to improve the safety, public health and environment of neighborhoods throughout the city,” said LALCV President Tom Eisenhauer. “Prop HHH is a common-sense, cost-effective approach to solving the problems of growing homelessness, increasing encampments, and at-risk populations of homeless women and children, seniors and veterans.

Prop HHH will help finance a significant increase in L.A.’s Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH), a proven strategy to end chronic homelessness already in place in cities across the country. L.A. needs an additional 10,000 units of Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) are needed in order to house all of the City’s chronically homeless residents, including women and children, veterans, seniors, foster youth, and the disabled. In addition to permanent supportive housing, Prop HHH provides funding to construct facilities that provide emergency relief for those experiencing homelessness and affordable housing for those at risk of it.
