(Los Angeles County) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which has supported pro-environment local candidates and issues throughout Los Angeles County for more than three decades – today announced its support to the “Build Better LA” initiative (Measure JJJ) that will appear on the November ballot in Los Angeles.

The “Build Better LA” initiative will develop a platform for sustainable communities by increasing the availability of affordable housing units throughout Los Angeles, particularly around major transit hubs. By assisting residents with affordable housing options and providing new accessibility to public transportation options, the “Build Better LA” initiative will be pivotal in increasing ridership along public transit and reducing additional congestion, air pollution, and climate impacts from vehicular commutes. For these reasons, LALCV supports the “Build Better LA” initiative.

“Offering a public-transit focused solution to Los Angeles’ housing crisis, the ‘Build Better LA’ initiative will lay the grounds for sustainable development in Los Angeles that will effectively combat regional sprawl and congestion,” said Tom Eisenhauer, President of LALCV.
