LOS ANGELES COUNTY Jan. 26, 2024 —  The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – supporting pro-environment candidates throughout Los Angeles County –  announced its endorsement of Joel Estrada for Compton City Council District 4.

Estrada is a former member of the City’s school board and is a long standing activist in Compton. He is an attorney who has run several businesses in the area. He currently runs a housing corporation and also acts as a youth pastor.

“Joel has a comprehensive knowledge of the critical environmental issues facing Compton,” said Shona Ganguly, President of LALCV. “We feel he would be an advocate for those impacted by corrupted city wells, oil recycling plants, air pollution and more. We wholeheartedly support his candidacy and look forward to working with him when he wins a seat on the City Council.”

“I am deeply grateful for the endorsement from the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters, which reflects our shared commitment to environmental stewardship, with a particular focus on enhancing air and water quality in Compton. I am dedicated to championing policies that prioritize conservation, and I look forward to working collaboratively with LALCV to build a greener and healthier future for our great city of Compton,” said Estrada.
