Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters endorses Measure RRR to reform Los Angeles Department of Water & Power
(Los Angeles County) – The Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters (LALCV) – which supports pro-environment candidates and measures in Los Angeles County, and has for more than three decades – today announced its endorsement of Measure RRR to reform the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, which will appear on the November ballot in the City of Los Angeles.
“Measure RRR will reform DWP to increase accountability and to improve renewable energy, local water and energy efficiency programs for Los Angeles,” said LALCV President Tom Eisenhauer. “DWP will be able to pursue local water and renewable energy projects faster and at a lower cost – and to create the utility of the future, with a smart grid, 100 percent renewables, electric vehicle integration and 50 percent local water. Measure RRR will increase local participation opportunities in the City’s strategic planning process. And by linking rate-setting to the City’s strategic plan, it will ensure that LA’s vital and ambitious plans are matched to our ability to pay for them.”
